Our Story - From the Founder
Growing up in a family of tattoo artists, I was the only one who didn't pick up the needle. Surrounded by the art and passion of tattoos, I saw firsthand how they can be both exciting and intimidating. People would come in, their eyes full of curiosity and excitement, but then the hesitation would set in. They'd start second-guessing themselves, overthinking the design, the placement, and most of all, the permanence. And that's when the real question would hit them,"What if I regret this?"
It's a tough feeling, isn't it? The fear of committing to something permanent when unsure it's exactly what's wanted or needed. For many, tattoos weren't just about self-expression or artistry, they were about taking a leap of faith. And that leap felt huge, because once it's done, it's there forever.
Think about it: how many times have you loved a style, a trend, or a way of dressing, only to find that a few months later, it doesn't quite feel like you anymore? People's lives change, tastes evolve, and sometimes, the tattoo that once felt perfect no longer seems to fit. But that permanent tattoo stays, a constant reminder of a choice that can't be undone.

Creating Inkbolt's semi-permanent tattoo formula was a meticulous and thoughtful process. We didn't settle for just any ink; we focused on using high-quality, fruit-based ingredients that not only deliver vibrant, realistic results but are also safe for your skin. One of the standout ingredients is Genipa americana (Jagua), a fruit indigenous to the Amazon region, which has been used by native cultures for centuries to create temporary body art.
At Inkbolt, we researched this traditional technique extensively to ensure the final product delivers the highest quality tattoo experience. The active compound in Jagua, genipin, is what gives the tattoo its natural blue-black pigment. This ingredient naturally stains the upper layer of the skin, creating a tattoo that looks as close to the real thing as possible, but without the permanence. The pigment gradually fades over 2 weeks.
